Dr. Seker has completed his PhD work in Molecular Biology and Genetics in Istanbul Technical University, and University of Washington Seattle in 2009. Later he worked as a research fellow in Nanyang Technolocagical University, Singapore (2009-2011) on developing bionanophotonics systems. In 2011, he started to work as a Research Associate at MIT – Synthetic Biology Center and Biological Engineering Departments until 2014. During his stay he worked on developing synthetic biology tools for cellular engineering. In 2014 , Dr Şeker started his laboratory in Bilkent University UNAM. Dr. Şeker2s lab is developing cellular systems using the tools of synthetic biology and protein engineering to address challenges in drugs discovery, drug delivery, cellular therapies. Dr. Şeker’s work has been published in high impact journals including Nature Materials, Advanced Materials, ACS Synthetic Biology and many others. Dr. Şeker is the recipient of Distinguished Young Scientist Awards from , Turkish Academy of Sciences, Turkish Health Institutes, ODTU Parlar Foundation, and FABED Foundation.
